Mr. Julius J. Brown, age 88 of 2389 Beacon Light Road, Hartwell, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Mary's Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 5, 1930 in Hart County to the late Joe M. Brown and Lorene Herring Brown. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas as a mechanic with 35 years of service and also retired from Hart County School System as a bus driver with 16 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and former member of Miltown Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, RA Leader and served on various committees. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by; his wife, Frances Jordan Brown of the home, son, Steve (Denise) Brown of Hartwell, Ga., brothers, Ken Brown of Hartwell, Ga., and Eddie Brown of North Carolina, sister, Cathryn Griffin of Anderson, S.C. Grandchildren, Dr. Brande Brown of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Heather Long (Adam) of Clarkesville, TN. Great-grandchildren, Madison, Micah and Gweneth. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Joe Gregory Brown, siblings, Owen, Winston and Tommy Brown and Jeanette Kay.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Two o'clock from Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Webb and Mr. Steve Brown will officiate. The family will be at the home. The family has asked that flowers please be omitted and that memorials be made in his memory to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, The Children's Ministry or the Youth Ministry or RA's of the church or Acts 1:8 ministries, 2973 Mt. .Olivet Road, Hartwell, Ga. 30643.

Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell, Ga. will be serving the Brown family.
