Mrs. Betty Richardson Cartee, age 78 of Hartwell, Ga., went to be with Jesus on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Kindred Hospice-PIedmont Athens Regional surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 26, 1940 in Hart County to the late Glenn Richardson and Lillie Gaines Richardson. She was retired from the garment industry as a seamstress and a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Janice Whitfield of Hartwell, Ga., Wanda Bailey (Scotty) of Hartwell, Ga., Tammy Roberson (Tony Ledford), Carnesville, Ga., and Angela Wood (Chuck), Hartwell, Ga., grandchildren, Thomas Whitfield, Garret Bailey (Kristen), Dillon Bailey, Dustin Huff, Zachary Huff (Ally), Zac Wood (Hillary), Kyle Ledford (Caitlin), sisters, Mary Bryson, Ethel MIlford, Jo Temple and Genie Chappelear and brother, Harold Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Randolph "Randy" Cartee, siblings, Nancy Seymour, Broadus Richardson and infant twins, William and Helen Richardson.

Funeral services celebrating Betty's life will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Eleven o'clock from Abundant Life Baptist Church. Rev. Ken Brewer and Mr. Fred Greenway will officiate. Burial will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Sunday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at the home 116 Cartee-Johnson Road in Hartwell. Please make memorials in her memory to Abundant Life Baptist Church, 12 Hart Service Road, Hartwell, Ga. 30643 or to the American Cancer Society.
